Project work

360 hours of work

Half a day a week for the first 3 years!

This practical application of knowledge is demonstrated through group work and stimulates a spirit of initiative. Developed in partnership with companies, the projects, along with the work placements, provide an empirical introduction to the professional world.

Based on a study of an everyday product or service, you will carry out a functional and marketing analysis in order to propose a technical innovation.

The idea is to dismantle the product, analyse how it is used, understand customers’ current and future needs, create “mock-ups”, present your ideas to users, and produce a prototype that will benefit customers.

The aim of this project, carried out by groups of 4 engineering students, is to design and create a product or service aimed at customer satisfaction. Half a day a week is devoted to it throughout the year.

It is carried out in partnership with local companies, mainly SMEs, which means that 13 of you will have to respond to a concrete business problem while respecting its human, technical, and financial constraints.

In addition to the scientific and technical skills acquired during this activity, each student has the opportunity to put into practice the project management knowledge acquired during the course.

The aim of this activity is to position you as an innovator within the corporate environment. Each group of student-engineers is asked to work with the head of a company or a project sponsor and support them in their transformation through innovation.

Dedicated innovation coaches also support student engineers and companies.

In this activity, three levels of transformation are addressed: individual (innovator/manager mindset), project (relevance of the response to the need for innovation), and collective (enhancing the innovation culture of the SME).

The projects, halfway between technology and commerce, are excellent. In the first year, we worked on a project in groups of 7 or 8. I worked on a hiking accessory that provides autonomous energy using a manual crank and propellers to capture wind and water energy. In the second year, the aim is to solve a problem for a company that makes sun protection sails.
